- Performs in-House technical support for HORIBA Custom Spectroscopy Solutions Products
- Must attend training on products and help develop service documentation as required
- Is the primary point of contact to support customers
- Update System resources (Customer Relationship Management) accurately and timely with necessary updates and information
- Act as the primary point of contact for Field Service engineers to identify and resolve issues
- Work with Product Engineers to test and qualify products before shipment
- Write technical and service notes to support field service engineers.
- Bachelor's or Master's degree in physical or biological sciences
- Experience with optical spectroscopies such as Raman and Photoluminescence is a plus
- Experience with optical microscopes is a plus
- Experience with instrument control software such as LabView is a plus
- Familiarity with general electronics is a plus
- Familiarity with instrumentation in a production environment also is a plus
- Familiarity with Computer Aided Design (CAD) software (or another programming language)

Job DescriptionHORIBA is a global group of companies that develops, manufactures, and provides an extensive array of analytical and measurement equipment to countries around the world. Horiba Instruments, Inc., which specializes in scientific instruments, has an opening in its Piscataway, New Jersey, location for a Product Specialist- Custom Spectroscopy Systems.
Duties:
The successful candidate will be the technical liaison between the product engineering and manufacturing teams and the global field service teams in support of custom optical spectroscopy systems. Systems include light sources, spectrometers, CCD, and other single-channel detectors and microscopes. Travel to customer sites to perform system installation and training of customers on the use of hardware and software, as well as servicing installed systems. Perform sample runs on various custom systems to demonstrate system capability as part of the evaluation or support of system sales. Generate, test, and document operating procedures for various custom systems.
