The Accounting Manager leads a team that is responsible for General Ledger management, fraud prevention, Accounts Receivable, Financial Reporting, sales tax and cash management at The Golf Warehouse.
The Accounting Manager will directly oversee the Great Plains accounting system with the support of a third party vendor.Their department will ensure proper authorization and settlement of credit cards via payment processor and/or alternative payment methods such as PayPal.
This position will also oversee daily reconciliations between payment processors, Great Plains, and Ecometry.The Accounting Manager will manage all day to day functions of the accounting department and system, facilitate month end close, oversee account reconciliation and work with operational departments to help them better understand the financial aspect of their business.
This position reports to the Director of FP&A.RESPONSIBILITIES AND DUTIES
Oversee the General Ledger integrity to include posting activity and overseeing monthly account reconciliations.
Serve as subject matter expert on Great Plains accounting system with assistance of outside support vendor.
Provide primary interface to external auditors.
Ensure all transactions are approved and processed in order to meet stringent customer fulfillment commitments.
Provide a key interface to Customer Service to resolve customer issues.
Serve as subject matter expert on Ecometry back-end system for matters related to payment processing and order administration.
Provides regular reporting to both internal and external constituents on the financial performance of their departments.
Supervises a team of associate accounting personnel in performance of above duties with both best in class productivity and accuracy.
Ensure reconciliation of multiple accounts between backend systems, Great Plains, and payment processor are completed daily and accurately, resolving all issues timely.
Oversees sales tax and unclaimed property compliance with support of third party vendor.Ensures all cash accounts and system entries are reconciled on a daily basis.
Assists with preparation of annual budgets, projections, and monthly reports.
Prepares periodic reports and ad hoc analysis using advanced excel functions.
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE
Bachelor's Degree in accounting or 5 years equivalent relevant experience
Experience supervising a team in a highly customer centered and productivity focused environment
Strong technical expertise required.
Ability to learn multiple systems and understand how they interact required.
Strong Microsoft Excel skills required.
Previous Ecometry experience and/or payment processing experience strongly preferred.
Prior knowledge of sales tax and unclaimed property preferred.
