    Description

    We are looking for a Cybersecurity Test Engineer to join the Positioning, Navigation, and Timing (PNT) Systems Engineering & Integration (SE&I) Team at SAIC in Colorado Springs, CO.

    The PNT SE&I Team offers engineering, integration, technical analysis, and subject matter expertise (SME) support to the US Space Force. As part of our team, you will collaborate in a fast-paced setting with Government personnel and systems engineers to ensure a robust cybersecurity perspective for risk identification, review, and mitigation plans while promoting systems security engineering best practices across the PNT/GPS Enterprise.


    Major responsibilities:
    • Contribute to planning and conducting cybersecurity assessments using DISA Secure Technical Implementation Guides (STIGs), Nessus Vulnerability Scanner, DISA SCAP, and related tools
    • Engage in penetration testing activities on development and sustainment systems, identifying vulnerabilities, and performing risk analysis and mitigation
    • Aid in establishing processes and procedures for cybersecurity vulnerability and penetration assessments, including automation, tool research, development, and training
    • Support various cross-mission cybersecurity initiatives for space, ground, operations, logistics, and customer sustainment by identifying security-related engineering risks and providing advice on system interdependencies
    • Contribute to the creation, coordination, and approval of PNT/GPS Clinger Cohen Act (CCA) compliance packages and cybersecurity strategies
    • Collaborate regularly with team subcontractors, government civilians, and U.S. Space Force members
    Qualifications:
    • Bachelor's or Master's degree in engineering or cybersecurity with 2+ years of experience
    • DoD 8570 IAT Level II or higher certification (Security+ CE or equivalent)
    • Possess or obtain a penetration testing certification (CompTIA CEH or equivalent) within 6 months
    • Eligible for a Top Secret/SCI DoD clearance
    • Knowledge of risk analysis, cybersecurity tools, and engineering processes
    • Experience in creating and delivering technical documents and briefings
    • Self-driven, problem-solving mindset, and effective team player
    Desired Qualifications:
    • Active TS/SCI Clearance
    • Familiarity with systems engineering and cybersecurity principles according to industry standards
    • Experience working with Air Force/DoD customers in an acquisition environment
    • Proficiency in Linux (RedHat / Kali) and Windows (10, Server operations)
    • Familiarity with cybersecurity tools such as Nessus Vulnerability Scanner, DISA SCC/SCAP, Elastic (ELK) Stack, Fortify, and others

    Target salary range:
    $75,001 - $100,000. This estimate reflects the typical salary range based on experience and other factors.
