    Rochester Electronics is hiring immediately for a Staff Packaging Engineer

    General Summary

    The Staff Product Engineer - supports all aspects throughout the manufacturing process from initial conception to delivery to the end customer.

    The Staff Packaging Engineer communicates and collaborates with internal departments including sales, assembly, production control, quality and test engineering daily to assist in reaching company objectives.

    Responsibilities
    Provides support on a range of products and services to internal departments and externally to customers. This includes but is not limited to; supporting the manufacturing floor, assembly validation, OSAT management, sales and yield analysis.
    Ability to use CAD to evaluate semiconductor product performance.
    Addresses other tasks as they arise such as; data analysis, 8D resolution, packaging and assembly roadmaps.
    Prior hands-on experience as a semiconductor packaging engineer in plastic and hermetic packages.
    Ability to interpret customer requirements into test and assembly specifications
    Strong data and yield analysis skills and ability to use yield and data analysis tools.
    Experience driving device-level and package-level qualification
    Submits failures to failure analysis lab and understands semiconductor analysis techniques Support Failure analysis work as a technical expert.
    Drives closure of product test and assembly failure evaluations
    Works with internal and external manufacturing assembly and test groups to improve yield, thru-put and quality.
    Creates, maintains, reviews and approves technical documentation such as datasheets, process specifications, reports and internal documents and specifications.
    Performs capability and financial assessments on new business opportunities.
    Converts contract requirements internally within the packaging department and other departments to ensure customer expectations are met or exceeded.
    Ability to drive project and present updates and reports.
    Other Duties & Responsibilities
    Modifies process flows based on historical trends to streamline the manufacturing process.
    Coordinates new product developments and tracking associated costs.
    Supporting Test Services, Programming and Burn In as needed.
    Supports the integration of new products into and through the factory to meet customer commit dates
    Qualifications
    Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering or equivalent
    A minimum 10+ years of relevant experience in the semiconductor manufacturing industry
