- Review design plans that affect MnDOT assets for water resources impacts.
- Review externally prepared construction plans for drainage and stormwater treatment features to ensure MnDOT standards are followed and regulatory requirements are satisfied.
- Coordinate with internal and external stakeholders.
- Conduct and review water resources engineering work in the design, construction, and maintenance of highways systems in the MnDOT Metro area using Open Roads Designer (ORD), HydroCAD and other water resources design software.
- Obtain water resources permits.
- Negotiate agreements, easements, and cost sharing for water resources requirements.
- Supervise team and workload.
- Provide engineering support on MS4 tasks.
- Resolve drainage and erosion control issues.

The Metro District Water Resources team is hiring a Permit Coordinator Engineer. This position will manage workload for external project reviews as well as deliver design plans. The water resources engineering services include, and is not limited to:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS
Engineer Senior Minimum Qualifications:
Licensure as a professional civil engineer with the Minnesota Board of Architecture, Engineering, Land Surveying, Landscape Architecture, Geoscience and Interior Design (AELSLAGID) or ability to obtain licensure through reciprocity. (If obtaining licensure through comity (reciprocity), a practice pending letter from AELSLAGID must be provided to MnDOT HR prior to starting employment.)
Engineer Graduate 2 Minimum Qualifications:
A Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or related degree from an ABET accredited college or university or equivalent AND two years of post-graduation civil engineering experience
OR
A Master's degree in Civil Engineering from an accredited college/university or equivalent AND one year of post-graduation civil engineering experience.
AND
A passing score on the Fundamentals of Engineering exam.
