Universal Truck Service LLC is one of the leading fleet maintenance companies in the Midwest. Our Tanker Shop Division in New Brighton is expanding, and we're looking for skilled Tanker Mechanics/Technicians to join our team. Candidates may qualify for Level I, II, or Senior Technician roles depending on verified experience and position availability.
Position Overview
The Tanker Mechanic/Technician is responsible for the repair and maintenance of tanker trailers to ensure safe and efficient operation. This position requires strong diagnostic and mechanical skills specific to tankers, compartments, and systems.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
Diagnose and repair ABS and disc brake systems
Perform suspension repair and replacement (spring and air ride)
Repair and replace lift axles
Maintain pneumatic and hydraulic vent systems
Service internal valves (Top Hat, Quick Clean, Disc, Air, and Mechanical)
Repair API heads and QRB valves
Conduct electrical repairs and wiring
Troubleshoot and replace overfill systems
Repair piping systems, jacket wraps, and heads
Hydraulic, fabrication, and welding experience is a plus
Qualifications
Working Conditions
Frequent exposure to heavy traffic areas and outdoor environments
Must be able to lift 40+ lbs and move heavy objects
Frequent bending, kneeling, stooping, and crawling required
