- Current Massachusetts licensure as a registered nurse. BSN required.
- Current Basic Life Support (BLS) and Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certifications.
- 2-3 years ICU, critical care, ED, or procedural experience required.
- Demonstrates clinical competence in the area of nursing practice predominant on the unit. Strong clinical background in pulmonology preferred.
- Completes competencies for Critical Care Orientation including successful completion of conscious sedation program administered by the Department of Anesthesia.

Staff Nurse, Interventional Pulmonary
The Mass General Interventional Pulmonology Program manages patients with complex respiratory problems, including lung cancer and pleural disease, using techniques that are less invasive than traditional surgical methods.
The PSPU Staff Nurse is a registered nurse who is responsible for assuring competent, compassionate nursing care for specific patients and families.
Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, pre-procedural assessment, administration of moderate sedation, hemodynamic monitoring during diagnostic and interventional procedures, and post-procedural recovery and teaching.
The staff nurse serves as a resource to support staff. The staff nurse is responsible and accountable for the overall nursing care management of a designated group of patients. The PSPU staff nurse shares responsibility to ensure ancillary unit tasks are completed appropriately and in a timely manner. She/he collaborates with the Nurse Manager and members of the Patient Care Team to achieve optimal patient outcomes. She/he also collaborates with the patient toward efficient and effective personnel and unit management.Reasons to Choose MGH
