    What the job involves

    We are seeking a highly motivated, hands-on, and mechanically-oriented Field Engineer to join our growing team.

    In this role, you will be responsible for operating our camera systems in the San Francisco Bay Area, playing a crucial part in translating your observations into actionable feedback for the engineering team.

    This role offers an exciting opportunity to gain both software and mechanical engineering skills working with computer-vision cameras operating on vehicles.

    Responsibilities

    Conduct field tests and collect data using specialized camera and lighting equipment.


    Perform field service for camera systems, including troubleshooting and repairing mechanical issues (e.g., focusing lenses, adjusting mounts) in the San Francisco Bay Area.

    Maintain and analyze collected data, ensuring effective organization and searchability to maximize its value.

    Analyze field data, including video footage, annotating objects of interest (e.g., vehicles, license plates, signs)

    Analyze and interpret test results to assess their significance and communicate findings effectively to the engineering team.


    Partner with the engineering team to translate real-world observations from field testing into actionable insights and recommendations that drive product quality and performance improvements for our customers.

    Qualifications

    Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related discipline.

    1+ years of experience in a technical role (or equivalent internship experience).

    Strong understanding of data analysis principles and methodologies.

    Proficiency in programming languages like Python, knowledge of SQL and Pandas libraries.

    Experience with cloud platforms, particularly AWS, is a plus.

    Must have a valid driver's license and the ability to operate a company vehicle.

    Target Salary Range

    $75,000 - $85,000
