The apprentice will work under the direction of journeyman Toolmakers and experienced Machinists.

Our Tool and Die Apprentice will learn about metal stamping, die set-up, and use all manual machines such as saws, mills, drill presses, grinders, and lathes.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

Attends paid Tool Maker offsite training, as required
Performs simple tasks associated with tool and die under direct supervision.
Assists with disassembly and reassembly of die sets.
Working with and safe operation of all conventional Tool Room Equipment
Gain an understanding of a press
Working to sketches and verbal instructions

Willing to work with other Toolmakers
Meeting all time standards
Must keep work area neat and orderly
Follow all applicable AS9100 procedures and all Quality requirements

QUALIFICATIONS:

Skills:

Excellent Interpersonal skills
Troubleshooting skills

Education and/or Experience:

High School Diploma or equivalent; trade school preferred
Machining background and/or experience in a machine shop, preferred
Willingness to excel in the machining trade
Must be willing to attend offsite training and be willing to learn
Ability to life equipment up to 50 lbs.
