    Description
    Job Summary
    • Responsible for managing and maintaining Scott County's 800MHz interoperable radio system, including setting up, testing, and keeping in good condition all necessary equipment for radio communications.
    • Develops and manages the infrastructure and subscriber database for the radio subsystem.
    • Plays a vital role in ensuring the proper technical setup and operation of the radio system for various county departments.
    Essential Duties
    • Creates and updates radio code plugs and encryption keys.
    • Programs subscriber radios and manages the subscriber database.
    • Handles configuration, troubleshooting, and maintenance of network equipment.
    • Manages public safety networks and provides training to users.
    • Prepares budget requests and acts as the main contact for operational and technical issues.
    • Monitors system alarms and responds to failures 24/7.
    • Requires a valid driver's license for site maintenance visits.
    • Adheres to assigned work hours and performs other duties as needed.
    Minimum Qualifications
    • High school diploma/GED and 10 years of relevant experience in radio systems.
    • Motorola factory training and knowledge of networking and radio system architecture preferred.
    • Must have reliable transportation and a valid driver's license.
    Selection Process
    • Candidates will be assessed based on qualifications and experience.
    • Selected individuals will undergo background checks, evaluations, and drug testing.
