Essential Duties

  • Establish a budget control system for controlling expenditures & controls expenditures in accordance with budget allocations
  • Revenue and deposit
  • Purchasing/Accounts payable
  • Guest Speaker/Honorarium Contracts & Payment
  • Manage the processing of travel reimbursements, purchase of supplies, services, and equipment with use of P Card and other purchasing documents in accordance with established procurement and financial policies
  • Work with Grad coordinator to ensure scholarship requests are entered and funding is received by the fellows within a timely fashion
  • Provide Faculty with working budget /and responding to inquiries of available funds
  • Assist faculty or research staff with pre
- and post-award grants and contracts processes, including budget preparation; provides information, guidance, and interpretation of complex federal and state regulations governing management of grants and contracts.

  • Other financial and operational duties as assigned by Business Operations manager and/or director.

Minimum Qualifications


Bachelor's degree in a field appropriate to the area of assignment AND three (3) years of related experience; OR, Seven (7) years of related experience; OR, Any equivalent combination of experience and/or education from which comparable knowledge, skills and abilities have been achieved.


Desired Qualifications

  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic principles, practices and methods of accounting, budgeting, and inventory management
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic project management.
  • Experience in performing detailed and complex numerical computations and reports, including analysis and evaluation of budgets, planning and other management information systems.
  • Experience in designing presentation materials.
  • Experience in coordinating activities and establishing priorities.
  • Experience in establishing and maintaining effective working relationships.
  • Evidence in effective communication.

Working Environment

  • Ability to clearly communicate to perform essential functions.
  • Calculator, telephone, computer (monitor, keyboard and mouse), printer, fax and copier. This position receives regular review of objectives.
