    Description

    Reporting Structure:

    The Manager, Health Policy and Regulatory Affairs reports to the Director, Health Policy and Practice Advocacy.

    Qualifications

    Bachelors' degree and minimum 3 to 4 years of relevant experience - previous association and/or experience communicating directly with members. Familiarity with healthcare policy and the regulatory process is highly valuable. The ideal candidate must excel at organizing advocacy communications to the Academy's members, paying meticulous attention to detail. Strong oral and written communication skills are essential, along with the ability to explain complex ideas clearly and succinctly. Interpersonal skills are crucial for engaging with colleagues and Academy members. Additionally, the ideal candidate should be proactive, possess strong problemsolving skills, and be proficient in various computer applications, including Microsoft Office, Podio, and Adestra.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Maintain advocacy databases, including grassroots initiatives and member inquiries.
    • Deliver high-quality and prompt customer service to members through the member inquiry process.
    • Stay informed about regulatory and payer issues affecting Otolaryngologist-head and neck surgeons.
    • Create and manage content to actively showcase AAO-HNS advocacy efforts on social media platforms.
    • Collaborate effectively within the team and organization to ensure member resources are up-to-date and relevant.

    Specific Duties

    • Direct member inquiries to the appropriate team member within the Advocacy Business Unit. Maintain the member inquiry database and document all inquiries carefully.
    • Research payer policies impacting the Otolaryngology community in collaboration with the health policy team, and engage with members on reimbursement matters.
    • Monitor regulatory announcements and opportunities for public feedback, coordinating the development of AAO-HNS comments as needed.
    • Keep abreast of information related to the Quality Payment Program, including updates, communications, and educational materials on changes and deadlines.
    • Assist in promoting the registry in relation to QPP reporting by working closely with the Reg-ENT team.
    • Handle social media outreach and interactions from the Advocacy business unit, including drafting, scheduling, and responding to inquiries promptly.
    • Maintain grassroots databases and aid in member outreach during critical periods of the year.
    • Contribute to internal team projects or Academy committees as required.
    • Ensure the Advocacy pages of the Academy website are current and accurate in collaboration with the advocacy business unit.
    • Support departmental activities related to the Academy's annual meetings, leadership conferences, and the AMA House of Delegates meetings.
    • Undertake any other job-related tasks as delegated.
