- Strategic Planning: Develop and implement strategic plans for clinical operations aligned with the university's mission, goals, and objectives.
- Staff Management: Recruit, train, supervise, and evaluate clinical staff including physicians, nurses, technicians, and administrative personnel.
- Workflow Optimization: Streamline clinical workflows and processes to enhance efficiency, reduce wait times, and improve patient satisfaction.
- Resource Allocation: Manage the allocation of resources including personnel, equipment, and supplies to ensure optimal utilization and cost-effectiveness.
- Quality Assurance: Establish and enforce quality assurance protocols to maintain high standards of patient care, safety, and regulatory compliance.
- Budget Management: Develop and manage the clinical department budget, monitoring expenditures, and identifying opportunities for cost savings.
- Collaboration: Foster collaboration and communication among clinical staff, faculty, researchers, and other stakeholders to promote interdisciplinary care and research initiatives.
- Compliance: Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements, accreditation standards, and institutional policies governing clinical operations.
- Risk Management: Identify and mitigate potential risks related to patient safety, legal liabilities, and operational issues.
- Performance Metrics: Develop and implement performance metrics to evaluate clinical operations, track key performance indicators, and identify areas for improvement.
- Patient Experience: Implement strategies to enhance the patient experience, including patient education, communication, and satisfaction surveys.
- Research Support: Provide support for clinical research initiatives, including protocol development, participant recruitment, and coordination with research teams.
- Continuing Education: Facilitate continuing education and professional development opportunities for clinical staff to ensure ongoing competency and compliance with best practices.
- Bachelor's degree in healthcare administration, business administration, nursing, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in clinical operations management, preferably in an academic or healthcare setting.
- Strong leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Knowledge of healthcare regulations, accreditation standards, and best practices.
- Ability to analyze data, identify trends, and make data-driven decisions.
- Experience with budgeting, financial management, and resource allocation.
- Proficiency in electronic health records (EHR) and healthcare information systems.
- Certification in healthcare management or related field is a plus.
