    Description

    Job Title: Food Program Specialist

    Company: Confidential

    Who we need:

    • Assist the Food Program in monitoring childcare provider homes according to USDA regulations
    • Review menus, meal counts, and claims
    • Provide training on USDA requirements to new childcare providers
    • Offer technical assistance to providers

    What you get:

    • Starting Base Pay: $22/hour
    • Hours: M-F 8AM-5PM with occasional evenings/weekends as needed
    • Eligibility for benefits

    Primary Duties/Responsibilities:

    • Monitor assigned homes three times per year following USDA regulations
    • Follow USDA guidelines
    • Train providers on USDA requirements
    • Assist Food Program staff
    • Maintain provider files and update as needed
    • Stay updated on USDA Food Program regulations
    • Attend required USDA Food Program trainings
    • Perform all duties assigned by supervisor

    Skills/Requirements:

    • High School Diploma or equivalent (higher education hours preferred)
    • Willingness to work flexible hours including evenings, weekends, and holidays
    • Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, and database management
    • Detail-oriented, organized, and capable of accurate recordkeeping
    • Good judgment, common sense, and follow-through on tasks
    • Professional in speech and manner
    • Responsible and motivated with openness to new ideas
    • Ability to work semi-independently
    • Build positive relationships with providers and staff
    • Effective communication with individuals from diverse backgrounds
    • Reliable transportation and willingness to drive extensively
    • Valid driver's license, clear driving record, and vehicle insurance
    • Background compliant with Department of Juvenile Justice requirements
