    POSITION TITLE: Licensed Clinical Supervisor

    PURPOSE OF POSITION: To provide clinical supervision to all clinical and case management staff of facility, including reviewing and approving assessments and ISPs, supervising service delivery to clients to ensure that effective treatment and documentation is completed and maintained for the program. Specifically, but not exclusively, this position will oversee all clinical documentation including Individualized Service Plan and proper assessment documentation in ASAM and Comprehensive Assessment and comply with all required activities covered by Medicaid and Licensing to meet and/or exceed eligibility requirements. Supervises, reviews, and co-signs daily all non-licensed (Residents and Supervisee's documentation within 1 business day).

    Provide administrative, clinical supervision and supervision toward licensure as needed. This position is responsible for staff training and supervision of clinical issues as well as overall counselor supervision in the program and group setting. Duties include but are not limited to developing individualized person-centeredness in goals, objectives, and interventions in implementing treatment plans, conducting individual, group and family therapy, evaluating and re-evaluating clients' needs for continued stay (these functions are as needed and not primary to this position). Licensed Clinical Supervisor will participate in overall management, treatment, and quality assurance teams for the facility as appropriate.

    ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS:

    1. Has any combination of education and experience equivalent to graduation from an accredited college or university with a at least a master's degree in Psychology, Social Work, Counseling, Education, or a closely related field of clinical study. At least 3 years of professional and clinical experience.
    2. Must maintain standing as an CATP as required by the Department of Medical Assistance Services (DMAS) and the Department of Behavioral Health and Developmental Services (DBHDS).
    3. Experience working in a supervisory capacity with the human services field is preferred.
    4. Experience with adults in community-based programs.
    5. Excellent communication skills as well as an ability to work with a variety of people in providing the highest level of therapeutic counseling services.
    6. Regular and predictable attendance and regular meet client counseling requirements for clinical services.
    7. Must be able to successfully pass State, Federal, and Central Registry background reviews.
    8. A valid Virginia's driver's license, good driving record, and with personal auto insurance.
    9. Knowledge of health and safety precautions. Certification in basic first-aid, CPR, crisis intervention, and medicine administration.

    ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

    While the most essential functions are outlined below, responsibilities include but are not inclusive of tasks which the Case Manager shall provide.

    Supervision

    1. Participates in all supervisory meetings appropriate for job function.
    2. Provides support to the Counselors by ensuring training goals are implemented and evaluated and material and supplies are available to effectively work with the clients. Identifies training needs and provides or arranges training for staff in program policies and procedures. Tracks participation of staff in training necessary for continued licensure or to ensure staff members are properly trained.
    3. Supports and implements the policy and philosophy of the agency and program.

    Case Management & Documentation

    1. Reviews psychological, educational, familial, vocational, substance abuse, and program assessment records as well as DSM-IV diagnosis. Secures and reviews hospital, court, and prior placement files of potential candidates for programs.
    2. Participates in treatment teams and provides input and observations. Provides assessments.
    3. Acts as advocate and presenter of client at multi-disciplinary sessions.
    4. Collects documentation, verifies information provided and that the documentation reflects the interventions as specified in the Individualized Service Plan (ISP).
    5. Provides quality assurance to all clinical documentation with the goal of ensuring proper delivery of clinical services and accurate submission for billing.
    6. Understands and navigates the use of ICANotes as the primary software for client documentation. Reviews client charts in ICANotes and ensures client chart compliance.
    7. Ensures appropriate clients are transitioned into program housing and all appropriate documentation is completed. Conducts consistent facility inspections to ensure that the clients maintain a habitable living environment.
    8. Manages optimal billing opportunities, maximizing billable hours for valid client needs and ensuring all areas of compliance are met. Maintains documentation and ensures that charts are complete to maximize revenue from billing.
    9. Prepares reports, business correspondence, and assist in the development of new procedures. Presents information effectively and responds to questions. Compiles and prepare data on clients served. Prepares correspondence to clients.
    10. Facilitates client group sessions that foster education and supports goals of the service plan.
    11. Works collaboratively with other departments.
    12. Maintains knowledge of current trends and developments by reading appropriate professional periodicals, professional journals, or governmental regulations. Demonstrates a commitment to one's personal and professional growth, i.e., training, seminars, and conferences.
    13. Performs additional duties as directed.

    KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:

    1. Working knowledge of therapeutic counseling techniques, and crisis intervention strategies, and ethics as they apply to intervention programs for the mentally disabled. Experience working with adults with a mental health diagnosis.
    2. Ability to support staff by effectively communicating instructions, providing solution-oriented strategies and resolving conflicts.
    3. Ability to work independently while requiring little supervision.
    4. Maintain a creative edge and inspiring posture to motivate Counselors and clients.
    5. Ability to research available community resources and of their organization, purpose and use.
    6. Ability to establish and maintain effective, cooperative working relationships with professional staff, subordinates, clients, their families and other agency representatives.
    7. Ability to maintain clinical records (manual and electronic) and prepare related reports.
    8. Ability to express ideas effectively. Ability to write routine client progress reports and correspondence that conform to the prescribed style and format. Ability to effectively present information before individuals, groups of persons, parents and/or guardians, state officials, and other employees of the organization. Strong ability to effectively communicate with the people supported and the general public. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
    9. Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions. Ability to analyze and conclude from information, solve practical problems, deal with variables. Ability to deal with problems in generally standardized situations.
    10. Flexibility to ensure meeting client needs and organizational needs.
    11. Successfully complete other training as may be required or amended by company policy, particularly as it relates to state and federal regulation changes and revisions. Ability to use personal computers and working knowledge of Microsoft Office Suite applications. Maintaining a valid Virginia driver's license and good driving record. Ability to operate a car or van.
    12. Ability to develop organizational and communication skills that fosters TEAMWORK.
