    Job Description:

    Job Title: Software Engineering Manager, Retail, Finance, HRIS

    FLSA: Exempt

    As a software engineering manager, you will lead multiple development delivery teams focusing on Hy-Vee's critical objectives in Retail, Finance, and HRIS. Your role involves managing priorities, estimating costs of delivery, developing product strategy, and planning roadmaps in collaboration with stakeholders. Keeping teams informed, fostering talent improvement, and delivering value for Hy-Vee's growth are key responsibilities. If you possess strong team development experience, we want to hear from you!



    KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

    • Provide guidance to engineering teams for efficient goal delivery
    • Collaborate with internal teams to develop engineering strategy
    • Coach, mentor, and conduct performance reviews for team members
    • Assist in prioritizing critical projects across the organization
    • Drive work for engineering team according to business needs
    • Liaise between IT and business units to ensure clear communication
    • Ensure quality and on-time delivery of software solutions


    QUALIFICATIONS

    • Strong leadership and project management skills
    • Ability to thrive in a fast-paced, growth-oriented environment
    • Detail-oriented problem solver with clear communication skills
    • Commitment to Hy-Vee's mission and core values
    • Drive innovation and continuous learning culture
    • Collaborative work approach with diverse stakeholders
    • High School or equivalent experience + 2-3 years in software development


    Physical Requirements

    • Visual requirements: ability to see detail at near range
    • Physical ability for sedentary work and various activities


    Working Conditions

    Duties are carried out in a general or remote office setting with weekly deadline pressure. Handling multiple tasks is common.
