    Description

    What You'll Do in This Position


    SRNS is seeking a Smart (SmartPlant) 3D System Administrator/Designer to support design engineering at Savannah River Site (SRS) on a full-time, permanent basis.

    This position plays a crucial role in optimizing Smart 3D to support engineering and construction projects, focusing on data management, configuration, customization, security, and user support.

    Candidates should possess skills and experience in several areas:


    • Understanding of design standards and techniques across mechanical, piping, electrical, hvac, instrumentation and structural disciplines.
    • Provide support regarding the functionality of the tool to the user base.
    • Provide/Execute training on Smart 3D in both a classroom and one-on-one arrangement.
    • Champion continuous improvement using the tool and best practices.
    • Prepare Smart 3D specific work instructions to be consumed by the user base.
    Scope technical tasks and develop creative solutions to assigned problems. Begin using SRNS systems and meeting SRNS requirements with minimal supervisory guidance. Accepts complex tasks and receives minimal guidance from senior professionals.

    Incorporate conventional engineering or scientific practices and a variety of complex features such as complicated technical requirements, application of new or special materials or processes and difficult coordination or oversight requirements into problem solving and program planning.

    Provide limited guidance and direction to less senior engineering professionals.

    Carry out development and qualification programs on tasks concurrent with other phases such as design and fabrication to better evaluate and minimize future problems.

    Develop alternate solutions to existing problems. Perform all detail work necessary to determine best solutions. Evaluate proposals and make recommendations based on proposed projects/tasks in area of assignment. May delegate portions of the detail work to less senior personnel. Prepare costs and schedule estimates on proposed projects/tasks in assigned area. Demonstrate cost and schedule consciousness through timely completion of assigned tasks and projects. Prepare manuals and other documents supporting or publicizing the technical effort. Demonstrate creative ability through medium of patent disclosures, problem solving, engineering reports, technical papers and articles.


    Other Qualifications

    Must be able to obtain and maintain a security clearance, if required.

    Must have previous experience with Hexagon's Smart 3D.


    Qualifications We Desire

    Master or PhD degree in applicable science or engineering discipline
    Understands and applies advanced knowledge of discipline's standard theories, concepts, principles and techniques
    Working knowledge of standard engineering/scientific practices and applications

    Security Clearance Information


    SRNS is required by DOE to conduct a pre-employment drug test and background review that includes checks of personal references, credit, criminal records, and employment history, and education verifications.

    Positions with SRNS may require applicants to obtain and maintain a DOE L or Q-level security clearance, which requires U.S.

    citizenship.
