- Partner with the Senior Director of HR to develop and implement the overall HR strategy, aligning it with goals and objectives.
- Oversee day-to-day operations of specific HR functions as requested by Senior HR Director.
- Manage a team of HR professionals, providing coaching, mentorship, and performance management.
- Lead and participate in HR projects, ensuring successful completion on time and within budget.
- Develop and implement HR policies and procedures, ensuring compliance with all applicable laws and regulations.
- Conduct investigations and mediate employee relations issues.
- Serve as a subject matter expert on HR matters for leadership and employees.
- Stay up-to-date on current HR trends and best practices.
- Analyze HR data and metrics to identify trends and develop data-driven solutions.
- Represent the HR department in meetings and committees.
- Knowledge of applicable state, federal, and Tribal personnel laws, and requirements
- Strong verbal and written communication skills are essential for effective collaboration and conveying information
- Adaptable to change, handle multiple tasks or projects simultaneously, and adjust to new situations
- Effective time management skills, including prioritization, organization, and the ability to meet deadlines, are valuable in many roles.
- Ability to gather and analyze data, identify trends, and draw meaningful insights is valuable in roles that involve problem-solving and decision-making.
- Ability to analyze complex problems, think critically, and develop innovative solutions.
- Having a solid understanding of the industry, market trends, and best practices
- Familiarity with Tlingit, Haida, and Tsimshian populations
- Bachelor's Degree in Human Resources Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum 5- 7 years of experience in a progressive HR leadership role.
- Proven experience in leading and managing HR teams.
- Strong understanding of HR best practices and legal compliance.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to build strong relationships with all levels of the organization.
- Experience working in a Tribal Organization or Government.
- Master's Degree Preferred
- Experience with HR technology systems

PURPOSE
The Deputy HR Director is responsible for assisting in the development, implementation, and administration of all aspects of the Human Resources function.
This position will serve as a key partner to the Senior Director of HR, providing leadership and oversight for a variety of HR functions.
This critical role will provide support to ensure the smooth operation of the HR department and the successful implementation of HR initiatives that support our growing organization.
