**Description:**
specializes in the production and fabricating of hydraulic cylinders for the utlities, oil and gas, mining, and defense industries. These cylinders are used in a variety of ways such as lift equipment used by utlities (lift trucks that extend out to fix street lights, etc..), hydraulic cylinders for lifting equipment, loaders, bobcats, loading power vehicles, lifting equipment attached to government defense vehicles, etc.. Their products have fairly tight tolerances and the ability to precisely measure material is extremely important because these cylinders need to fit inside its casing or they won't work properly.
Industries is seeking a CNC machinist on either 2nd or 3rd shift. Jarp manufactures custom welded hydraulic cylinders. The individual will be responsible for reading a custom blueprint and setting up and adjusting horizontal CNC lathe machines. They also have CNC mill machines and manual machining equipment that they will get cross-trained on. The individual will be machining all the way through and performing quality checks on their parts using micrometers, calipers, and various gauges such as a bore gage. They will get forklift certified so that they can be proactive and get all of their own parts, etc. Employees may also have to use overhead cranes to move material that is to heavy or bulky.
Training will take place on 1st shift. Training will take roughly 2 to 4 weeks. Candidates must be open to this.
Hours:
1st: 6:30am-3:00pm
2nd: 2p-12A
3rd: 11:30pm-8:00am
Shift differential for an off shift is $1.50 per hour.

POSITION SUMMARY:
Under the direction of the Team Lead or Plant Management Team, the Machinist is responsible for setting up and running the equipment per the appropriate work instructions. Also the Machinist is responsible for measuring and obtaining the inspection of the first piece produced.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Conduct inspection of parts during run per the work instruction and maintain part specification.
2. Responsible for maintaining tooling/inserts.
3. Conduct daily/weekly maintenance inspections of equipment and record.
4. Follow established material handling procedures.
5. May operate other equipment/machines as directed by supervision.
6. Must maintain flexibility as job or machining priorities change day to day.
7. Follow all safety rules while performing job functions.
MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Help keep the area clean and neat (practice housekeeping).
2. Assist with the development of more efficient manufacturing methods and procedures.
3. Check machine coolant/concentration levels and service as needed.
4. May be directed to perform other tasks due to a decrease in the work load, machine being down for maintenance or a critical need exists in another area.
5. Must be open-minded to various product designs.
6. Must be able to stay on the task due to the manual environment.
Requirements
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:
1. High school diploma or equivalent
2. Two year Associates Degree in Machine Tool techniques with one year of on the job CNC Machinist experience required
3. With no applicable degree, minimum of three years of on the job CNC Machinist experience required
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
1. Must be able to read and understand blue prints
2. Set up and operate precision measurement equipment: micrometer, caliper, and bore gauges
3. Must be able to work independently
