    POSITION SUMMARY:


    Under the direction of the Team Lead or Plant Management Team, the Machinist is responsible for setting up and running the equipment per the appropriate work instructions.

    Also the Machinist is responsible for measuring and obtaining the inspection of the "first" piece produced.

    3rd shift Monday - Thursday

    8:00pm - 6:00am

    $1.50/hour shift premium

    $5000 SIGN ON BONUS


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Conduct inspection of parts during "run" per the work instruction and maintain part specification.
    • Responsible for maintaining tooling/inserts.
    • Conduct daily/weekly maintenance inspections of equipment and record.
    • Follow established material handling procedures.
    • May operate other equipment/machines as directed by supervision.
    • Must maintain flexibility as job or machining priorities change day to day.
    • Follow all safety rules while performing job functions.

    MARGINAL RESPONSIBILITIES:

    • Help keep the area clean and neat (practice housekeeping).
    • Assist with the development of more efficient manufacturing methods and procedures.
    • Check machine coolant/concentration levels and service as needed.
    • May be directed to perform other tasks due to a decrease in the work load, machine being down for maintenance or a critical need exists in another area.
    • Must be open-minded to various product designs.
    • Must be able to stay on the "task" due to the manual environment.
    Requirements


    EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

    • High school diploma or equivalent
    • Two year Associates Degree in Machine Tool techniques with one year of on the job manual machining experience required
    • With no applicable degree, minimum of three years of on the job manual machining experience required

    QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:

    • Must be able to read and understand blue prints
    • Set up and operate precision measurement equipment: micrometer, caliper, and bore gauges
    • Must be able to work independently

    Full time employees regularly scheduled to work 30 hours or more per week are eligible for benefits. Benefits are available the first of the month following 30 days of employment.
