Job Title: Software Engineer

Job Duties:

Develop cutting-edge web-based applications for working with raw and curated genomics data. Work closely with a development team to design and develop features that will empower our users. Contribute to the project priorities and deliverables. Measure and improve site performance and scalability. Write performant, maintainable code that can handle heavy data loads and user traffic. Uphold a high standard of writing, testing, and reviewing code. Participation in development lifecycle tasks such as task estimation and sprint planning. Remote work allowed from the Memphis, TN area only. Work Location: Memphis, TN. Work Schedule: 40 hours per week.

Minimum Education:

Bachelor's degree in engineering, computer science, physical science, or related field.

Minimum Experience:

2 years of experience in software development is required. Experience must include the following:

Web development with Python, PHP, or Ruby

Javascript development with a modern framework such as React or Vue

Relational database experience with PostgresQL

Use of Agile development patterns and CI/CD

Experience working with a public cloud environment (Azure, AWS, or GCP)

Experience with one or more compile languages (Rust, Go, or C/C++)

Compensation

In recognition of certain U.S. state and municipal pay transparency laws, St. Jude is including a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. This is an estimate offered in good faith and a specific salary offer takes into account factors that are considered in making compensation decisions including but not limited to skill sets, experience and training, licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. It is not typical for an individual to be hired at or near the top of the salary range and compensation decisions are dependent on the facts and circumstances of each case. A reasonable estimate of the current salary range is $78,000 - $139,360 per year for the role of Software Engineer.
