    MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
    The requirements listed below are representative of the knowledge, skill, and/or ability required. May be required to obtain and maintain a security clearance, including successfully completing a thorough background investigation.

    For positions requiring use of a Company and/or Customer vehicle, must have a safe driving record within the past 36 months, as defined by Company policy.

    As a federal contractor, THTBC is subject to any federal vaccine mandates or other customer vaccination and/or testing requirements.

    EDUCATION:
    High School Diploma or


    GED

    EXPERIENCE:

    Must have a minimum of four (4) years journey-level experience and have completed a formal apprenticeship or equivalent formal vocational/technical training program on industrial HVAC systems.

    CFC certified and an HVAC license preferred. DDC Controls and Heavy Refrigeration experience needed. Must have the ability to effectively read, write and speak the English language.


    DUTIES:

    Performs a variety of heating and air conditioning trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment for the generation, distribution, or utilization of commercial systems.


    Work involves most of the following:
    Inspect, adjust, repair and maintain equipment to preserve constant dependable indoor air comfort and critical or laboratory environments.

    Operate and repair the direct expansion and chilled water-based cooling systems, complex centrifugal chillers, large air handlers, air distribution systems, pneumatic and electronic direct digital control systems and employ test equipment.

    Handle, procure, introduce and recover CFC, HFC and HCFC refrigerants. Must possess an EPA Universal classification for refrigerant recovery and replacement.

    In general, the work of the HVAC Mechanic requires rounded training and experience usually acquired through a formal apprenticeship or equivalent training and experience.
