The Finance & Accounting Intern will assist the Accounting & Finance team in month end and quarter end closing process. Assist to ensure transactions are recorded according to generally accepted accounting principles. Assist in carrying out daily tasks and accounting transactions which may vary from simple to moderate and perform special projects within the team, as needed.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Monthly/Quarterly Close & Reporting Assist team in month end and quarter end closing process. Activities may include preparation and analysis of results such as comparison of current period results to prior period or budget and identification of factors impacting results, preparation of price/volume or gross margin analysis, compilation of financial information or reports for internal or external users, and preparation of additional analysis as needed.
GAAP Accounting Assist team in carrying out of daily tasks and accounting transactions which may vary from simple to moderate. Evaluate transactions within assigned are to ensure recording in accordance with generally accepted accounting principles and propose modifications where needed.
Special Projects & Other Perform analysis or procedures as requested providing management with results and recommendations for improvements and perform other duties as assigned.
Follow all Kurtz Brothers, Inc. safety guidelines and complete incident reports immediately when required. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance is required. Other duties may be assigned.

Education and/or Experience
Pursuing a Bachelor degree in Finance or Accounting in an accredited college or university. Ability to work in the United States on a full-time, permanent basis. Prior Finance or Accounting experience preferred. PowerPoint and Excel experience desired.
Knowledge/Skills
Emotionally resilient and able to drive projects effectively for excellence against demanding targets in a complex, multi-disciplined environment. Customer oriented and able to operate effectively in a high pressure environment and pressing customer deadlines. Ability to build strong relationships with both internal stakeholders and external customer. Strong conflict management skills. Enthusiastic, with a drive for results. Ability to multi task and work in a fast paced environment. Proficiency in office IT suite (excel, word and PowerPoint) and to quickly develop a working knowledge of Quickbooks & NetSuite. Ability to learn new programs/software as needed.
