    Complex Safety Manager - Tulsa, United States - Koch Foods

    **Job Summary:**

    The Complex Safety Manager leads safety and compliance for assigned facilities, ensuring prevention of injury, illness, and property damage .

    **Primary Duties & Responsibilities:**

    Manage safety & health programs, ensuring prevention of injuries, illness, and property loss

    Manage regulatory requirements, ensuring prevention of citations and penalties

    Manage medical and workers compensation related activities

    Ensure appropriate documentation (i.e. certificate of insurance, safety training, OSHA log, etc.)

    Ensure safety training of contractors

    Facilitate and attend Executive Safety Committee, Joint Safety/Ergonomic Committee, and other committees meetings as needed

    Analyze and submit data for Monthly DART Rate report

    Monitor and administer safety programs (i.e. Lock out/Tag Out, Confined Space/Ergonomic programs, Hot work/Industrial Hygiene, etc.)

    Conduct monthly safety inspections and audit activities

    Assist with conducting accident investigations

    Assist complex/operations manager with regulatory inspections

    All other relevant tasks as needed

    **Job Requirements:**

    Bachelor Degree, preferably in Environmental Health & Safety, Industrial Hygiene, or other closely related discipline

    3+ years relevant safety management experience, preferably within poultry industry

    Technical knowledge of OSHA regulations

    Certification as Safety Professional (CSP)

    Demonstrated knowledge of ammonia refrigeration and electrical systems

    Excellent communication skills, verbal and written

    Able to prepare presentations and training programs

    Good public speaking skills

    Strong knowledge of regulatory requirements (i.e. OSHA, DOT, Workers Compensation, etc.)

    High level of interpersonal skills

    Proficient technology and computer skills, including MS Office based programs

    Demonstrated leadership and supervisory skills

    **Physical/Environmental Factors:**

    *Typical office environment within a plant setting:*

    Use of computer, telephone and other office equipment

    May encounter frequent interruptions throughout the work day

    Regularly required to sit, talk, and listen

    Repetitive hand motions, and occasional standing, walking, reaching, and lifting up to 20 lbs

    Exposure to noise levels greater than 85 decibels

    Exposure to strong, raw meat odor
