OBJECTIVES

  • Collaborate with product managers to come up with system designs and write the game design documents (GDD)
  • Create new daily quests, achievements, upgrades, and skills as it relates to gameplay
  • Develop prototypes and game designs that articulate the vision and requirements of game play features
  • Create and empower player choice adhering to the creative vision of the game
  • Ensure implementation of game design features are built according to specs and creative quality
  • Optimize existing and come up with new game mechanics and events to increase player engagement and other KPIs
  • Conduct ongoing market research and integrate current trends and features to enhance gameplay

COMPETENCIES

  • Game knowledge and an understanding of the design principles behind games especially for mobile, casual audience
  • Understanding how to balance a high quality, fun player experience with product/business goals
  • R language for statistical computing of game/player data to help make better game design decisions
  • Great attention to detail you actually read this job description

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

  • Bachelor's Degree in Game Design, Mathematics, or related field; Master's preferred
  • Experience with F2P games; having worked on a shipped F2P casual mobile game is a big plus
  • Game economy design and optimization of sink/source is a big plus
  • Coding/Prototyping experience is a big plus

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

  • Los Angeles, CA: Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work
  • Prolonged period of time sitting at a desk and computer
