    Job Summary

    This paragraph summarizes the general nature, level and purpose of the job.

    Perform diagnostic and therapeutic clinical procedures as defined in the Respiratory Care Services scope of clinical practice. Work performed in accordance with physician orders. Defined duties are performed in neonatal, pediatric and adult patient populations. Perform all essential functions required of a Respiratory Care Practitioner level II.

    Essential Functions

    Must perform all duties and responsibilities in accordance with the Service Standards of the Hospital(s).


    • Assist with nursing, house staff or other medical staff orientation as requested
    • Assist with student and department clinical skills labs/competency renewals as a super user
    • Assist with the clinical implementation of new clinical protocols, equipment and/or procedures
    • Assumes leadership role in assigned area by performing team lead duties in all service areas.
    • Function in the role of relief shift charge as needed.
    • Primary clinical preceptor for orientation of Level I, II and III staff, temporary staff and other professionals as required
    • Proficient in delivery of Nitric Oxide, Nitrogen, Heliox other specialty gases act as a resource
    • Proficient in assisting physicians with bronchoscopes
    • Proficient in the initiation and maintenance of pulmonary vasodilators and acts as a resource.
    Minimum Qualifications

    Any combination of education and experience that would likely provide the required knowledge, skills and abilities as well as possession of any required licenses or certifications is qualifying.


    Education:
    Completion of a CoARC (Commission on Accredited Respiratory Care) approved respiratory care program


    Experience:
    Four (4) year experience as an RCP in a Neo-Peds Critical Care facility (including completed time in the Respiratory Care Residency Program)


    • NICU LVL 3
    • Pediatric Trauma LVL 1

    License/Certification:
    BLS - Certified in Basic Life Support from the American Heart Association


    • AND
    NRP - Neonatal Resuscitation Program


    • AND
    PALS - Pediatric Advanced Live Support


    • AND
    RCP - Respiratory Therapy License from the State of California


    • AND
    RRT - Registered Respiratory Therapist


    • AND
    CRESPT - Certified Respiratory Therapist (For employees hired prior to Sept 1st, 2019 with 8 years of clinical experience)


    • AND
    • ACLS
    • Advanced Cardiac Life Support
    • AND
    NPS - Neonatal Pediatric Specialist (within 6 months of hire)

    Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

    These are the observable and measurable attributes and skills required to perform successfully the essential functions of the job and are generally demonstrated through qualifying experience, education, or licensure/certification.


    • Ability to adjust communications to fit the needs and level of understanding of the receiver Ability to conduct analysis and formulate conclusions utilizing critical thinking
    • Knowledge of computer systems and software used in functional area Knowledge of Medical Terminology
    • Knowledge of new technologies (in specific field) and maintain and stay abreast of updates and changes
    • Knowledge of the indications, contraindications, and hazards of continuous long-term or short term mechanical ventilation, various respiratory therapy techniques, and anatomy, physiology and pathology related to the respiratory system required

    Pay Range

    Compensation is based on the level and requirements of the role.

    Salary within our ranges may also be determined by your education, experience, knowledge, skills, location, and abilities, as required by the role, as well as internal equity and alignment with market data.

    Typically, new team members join at the minimum to mid salary range.

    Minimum to Midpoint Range (1.0 FTE): $144,102.40 to $163,488.00
