    Description

    SUMMARY:
    This position's primary responsibility providing straightforward solutions to problems, and routine engineering support to operations and sales.
    This would include providing engineering drawings,


    ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
    Determine project objectives and scope by analyzing goals
    Develop producible product designs with SolidWorks software – 90% Thermoplastic. 10% Metals
    Validate product performance through various testing methods.
    Be aware of desired project schedules
    Utilize a design team coordinating engineering, production, quality, and sales
    Utilize Company technical standards and design criteria
    Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards for assigned projects
    Manage multiple projects and initiatives concurrently.
    Appropriately communicate with Management on the status of projects in progress
    Maintain a safe and clean working environment while following policies, procedures, and regulations.
    Other duties related to company profitability.


    GENERAL SKILLS
    Proficient in SolidWorks Design Software, Microsoft Office System (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint). Must be able to setup and manipulate complex Excel spread sheets
    Ability to read and effectively communicate orally and in writing in English
    Must be effective at resolving problems and handling all situations in a courteous and professional manner
    Must be detail-oriented, organized, and proceed in a predictable manner.

    EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE
    Plastics Mold Design Experience and Plastics Injection Molded Parts Design experience preferred


    QUALIFICATIONS
    Complex information and interpret relationships
    Understanding of manufacturing principles and processes

    CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
    None required


    SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
    This position does not have any direct reports or supervisory responsibility.

    FLSA CLASSIFICATION/EXPECTED HOURS OF WORK
    This is a salary-exempt position that is not eligible for overtime. A minimum of forty (40) hours a week is required.


    TRAVEL REQUIREMENTS
    Occasional travel (local, domestic, and international) may be required.


    PHYSICAL DEMANDS
    This position is moderately sedentary with the majority of the work done on a computer in an office environment. Regular communication via e-mail and phone is necessary.


    SAFETY
    Safety glasses, hearing protection, and other PPE may be required in production areas.


    WORK ENVIRONMENT
    This position operates in a professional office environment and requires the use of standard office equipment. The position may require exposure to the production areas.


    ACCESS TO CONFIDENTIAL INFORMATION
    Access to highly confidential information including strategic plans, budgets, financial records/statements, and payroll data.
