    Job Details:

    Job Title: Network Engineer

    Contract Duration: 6 months Contract on W2 to start with

    Job Location: Downers Grove, IL - (75% Remote and 25% Onsite)

    Job Description:

    Understanding of distributed systems architecture and comprehensive knowledge of multiple technical disciplines and excellent technical knowledge and aptitude in the areas of networks, network topologies, applicable software, and troubleshooting techniques.

    Knowledge/skills in LAN/WAN and desktop skills, such as OS/applications: Novell NetWare, AIX, Citrix.

    Knowledge/skills in Client/server: NT Server, NetWare, Unix, Internet, Network hardware - routers, switches, CSU/DSU's, protocol analyzers.

    Knowledge of Network protocols, routing protocols, wireless Security protocols, frame relay, and broadband.

    Knowledge of Networking monitoring/ configuration tools.

    Strong ability to work independently, exercise judgment and creativity in analyzing and solving unusual problems or situations that arise.

    Good interpersonal skills and ability to provide excellent customer service.

    Strong communication skills and the ability to interact with a diverse client population.

    Ability to work on multiple tasks concurrently, manage priorities, and complete assignments in a timely manner and meet productivity standards.

    Ability to effectively handle customer contacts and problem resolution.

    Basic keyboarding skills and workstation user proficiency and working knowledge of using MS Office.

    Must Have Skills:

    F5 Load Balancing (Velo F5 is the product the client uses - preferred)

    Routing/Switching (Cisco or Nokia - Nokia preferred)

    Past migration experience

    DNS

    Nice to Have:

    Scripting/automation

    Data center lift and shift (configuration and moving from legacy to new environment)
