    Description

    RDI Technology Partners is an engineering and technology search firm. We are conducting a new high-priority search for an experienced Hardware/Firmware System Engineer with "some" image processing, camera or optics "knowledge" for our extremely successful client in San Diego. This is a highly visible permanent position (no contractors) on our client's commercial product development team.

    The key here is the hardware and firmware engineering background. Your imaging processing, camera OR optics experience can be "knowledge", not strong expertise. In this role, you will work with a cross functional team to help design and perform key research tasks related to developing advanced digital camera and imaging systems. You will partner with the electrical engineering team to help design system-level electronics architecture that includes power systems, signal paths, data bandwidth, interconnects for camera based imaging systems. You will also partner with a Computer Vision Engineer to research and specify optical parameters for lenses, resolution, field of view, depth of field, and resolution, as well as model optical system parameters.

    Requirements include at least 5 years of experience, along with a B.S.E.E. or B.S.C.E. Experience with C++/C and "some" Python is important. Any experience with security, automotive, or other camera systems are a big plus.

    The position is nearly 100% onsite in San Diego, based on the engineering aspects of the role. You must live in San Diego metro now or be open to self-relocating to San Diego soon.
