    Job Title: Quality Manager - Metal Fabrication


    Job Summary:


    The Quality Manager for Metal Fabrication is responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality management systems to ensure the production of high-quality metal fabricated products.

    This role involves overseeing quality control processes, conducting inspections, managing quality documentation, and implementing continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality and customer satisfaction.


    Key Responsibilities:
    1.
    Quality Management System (QMS)

    Development:     Develop and implement a comprehensive quality management system tailored to the specific requirements of metal fabrication processes. Define quality standards, procedures, and guidelines to ensure consistency and compliance with industry regulations and customer requirements.

    Quality Control Processes: Establish and oversee quality control processes throughout the metal fabrication process, including incoming material inspection, in-process inspections, and final product verification. Develop inspection plans, sampling procedures, and acceptance criteria to ensure products meet quality standards.

    Inspection and Testing: Conduct inspections and tests on raw materials, fabricated components, and finished products to verify conformance to specifications and quality requirements. Utilize measurement tools, gauges, and testing equipment to assess dimensional accuracy, surface finish, and mechanical properties.

    Non-Conformance Management: Manage non-conformance issues by identifying, documenting, and investigating quality discrepancies or deviations from established standards. Implement corrective and preventive actions to address root causes and prevent recurrence of quality issues.

    Supplier Quality Management: Collaborate with suppliers to establish quality requirements, evaluate supplier performance, and ensure the quality of incoming materials and components. Conduct supplier audits, inspections, and quality assessments to maintain a reliable supply chain.

    Documentation Management: Maintain comprehensive documentation of quality records, including inspection reports, test data, certifications, and quality assurance documents. Organize and manage quality documentation in accordance with QMS requirements and regulatory standards.

    Continuous Improvement: Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance product quality, process efficiency, and customer satisfaction. Identify opportunities for optimization, implement best practices, and lead quality improvement projects to achieve quality objectives and targets.

    Training and Education: Provide training and guidance to employees on quality standards, procedures, and best practices related to metal fabrication. Promote a culture of quality consciousness and accountability throughout the organization.


    Qualifications:

    • Bachelor's degree in engineering, quality management, or a related field; advanced degree or certification in quality management preferred.
    • Extensive experience in metal fabrication processes, including welding, machining, forming, and finishing.
    • Strong knowledge of quality management principles, standards, and methodologies (e.g., ISO 9001, AS9100).
    • Proficiency in quality inspection techniques, measurement tools, and testing equipment used in metal fabrication.
    • Experience with quality management software systems for documentation control, nonconformance management, and corrective action.
    • Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail in identifying and resolving quality issues.
    • Effective communication and interpersonal skills for collaborating with crossfunctional teams and external stakeholders.
    • Project management skills for planning, implementing, and monitoring quality improvement projects.
    • Knowledge of regulatory requirements and industry standards applicable to metal fabrication processes (e.g., AWS D1.1, ASTM standards).
