About Tyra Gravesande:

Tyra Gravesande is a recent graduate of the number one Historically Black College/University, Spelman College; she majored in Comparative Women’s Studies with a concentration in Women’s Health & Bioethics while on the pre-medicine track.  Her vivacious yet enterprising attitude has opened many doors for her as she will continue to push her limits to the highest extent. Graduated with Cum Laude distinction, at Spelman, Miss Gravesande served her campus and community through a multitude of ways: From organizing weekly meetings and events, to serving as both the Chief of Staff and Social Media Strategist for National Black Action Committee. Miss Gravesande has also served as the Editor in Chief for Bridge the Divide’s Pulse Magazine, Social Media Coordinator for DearAmbitiousGirl, a member of the Women’s March Youth Cohort Committee Team, the Director of Education for “For the Menstruator”, the Policy Director for Black Girl Environmentalist and a former Co-Policy Chair of the Health Policy Committee and the National Membership Coordinator for Student National Medical Association.

Tyra also served as the Spelman College President of the Transfer Student Association on Spelman’s campus, a 2020-2022 Next Generation Leadership Institute Fellow, the previous Education Director of “For the Menstruator”, A member of the class of 2022 Spelman College “Women of Excellence in Leadership Series” Scholar, a Spelman College Social Justice Associate and a past executive board member of the Ethel Waddell Githii Honors Program. Tyra has the pleasure of being fairly involved and immersing herself in many disciplines; with these in mind, Miss Gravesande will continue to help assist her community and make it a more dynamic place of comfort. Outside of work, Tyra is actively involved in her community; she currently serves as a 2022-2023 Pad Project Ambassador,  a Dr. MLK Jr. Social Justice Fellow and serves within Advocates for Youth as both a member of CommuniTEA and National Youth HIV and AIDS Awareness Day cohort. Tyra’s avid hobbies during her downtime includes shopping, making phone cases, indulging into her sweets addiction and collecting a plethora of hats and handbags.
