Tyra McDonald

I am located in Missoula, Montana.  I have been teaching for 18 years in the public school system. My education includes a Bachelors of Science in Education, Broad Field in Art (k-12), Minor in English (6-12), Minor in Special Education (k-12), Highly qualified in Math (6-9), International Baccalaureate (IB) certification Art, Masters General Psychology with an emphasis in Cognitive Psychology.  I also own and operate a paint and sip business, Painting with a Twist, and am an independent artist whom actively accepts commissions and sells work.  

I am married with two children.  My husband works in resource conservation.  

I have been teaching for 18 years in the public school system. I completed my student teaching experience in Ireland, followed by 10 years experience in middle school, and then currently eight years at the high school level.  At the middle school level I taught English, Math, and case managed students who had and Individual Educational Plan.  At the high school level I instructed Math, English (IB), and Art (Sculpture, Jewelry, Ceramics, Senior studio/IB Art Year 1 and 2, Introduction to Art, and Painting).  I also case managed students with Individual Educational Plans and am currently the department chair.
