  • Consolidated the number of applications and licenses in use decreasing support and maintenance costs by 40% and optimizing infrastructure using the market’s best practices. Streamlined key processes of the E&P value chain through the integration of areas of information technology and operation technology organizations, reducing IT operations, oil pipeline and field maintenance costs by $2.8M yearly.
  • Transformed business’ decision-making process by implementing artificial intelligence (AI) and machine learning by integrating operation and business data, generating insights that contributed to improve Reservoir Recovery and increasing production by 200 barrels per day by predicting events that interfere with operations.

  • Overhauled the service offering strategy and integrated infrastructure architecture to change the focus from a data center hosting facility to a managed services provider. Orchestrated the alignment of the Service Delivery organization Service objectives with new business strategy, reducing space utilization by 35% and ramping revenues up to 60% for four consecutive years.

 

INTESA/SAIC | Caracas, Venezuela

Vice-President of Outsourcing Solutions 

Jul 1998 - Jan 2002

INTESA (majority-owned by SAIC) provided Information Technology services to Petroleum de Venezuela (PDVSA). Under a Outsourcing Solutions organization with 850 professional employees and 400 contractors reporting to this role, an annual budget of $150MM and $330M overall revenue.  Intesa was the largest technology company in LA.

  • Established a new service model to optimize and integrate IT processes across different business units as well as proactive service monitors and highly automated operations to prevent service outages, reducing costs by 24%, increased customer satisfaction to 88%. 
  • Led PDVSA’s (Venezuela’s state-owned oil & gas corporation) data centers consolidation from 23 to 3 by successfully negotiating with applications owners in multiple business divisions, improving 20% application performance, reducing data center infrastructure, database, application and telecom costs by up to $13M/year.
