Shenita Cleveland

My professional background spans community outreach, M/WBE advocacy, capacity building and staffing. I’ve consistently fought to expand opportunities for small businesses and historically marginalized communities. I’ve worked with public institutions, nonprofits, and private sector partners to develop business & community-driven solutions.

I have been responsible for executing campaign and voter engagement goals by recruiting, managing and training volunteers to organize their communities and achieve increased voter turnout. I've participated in electoral activities like GOTV campaigns, door to door canvassing, phone banking and text banking. I have experience preparing reports, documenting required voter canvassing results, entering new voter registration data and creating community events in the MiniVAN & Mobilize systems. I've worked with leadership to identify and execute community organizing plans and has the capacity to bring change to our communities. 

I am a passionate leader, with a long track record of successfully growing capacity for local small businesses and nonprofit organizations. Formerly, I participated in developing and implementing comprehensive Minority and Women Business Enterprise (M/WBE) programs, to ensure these firms were fully utilized in the design, development and construction phases of public and private commercial projects
