About Savannah Lore Smithson:

I have built a diverse professional background that spans security operations, correctional facility management, customer service, and administrative support, while also pursuing higher education in human resource management and social work. My experience in protective services at Centrus Energy has strengthened my ability to monitor security systems, oversee access control, conduct safety inspections, and collaborate on security protocols, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards. Prior to this, I worked as a Correctional Officer at Chillicothe Correctional Institution, where I maintained order, enforced safety procedures, and managed crisis intervention strategies to foster a secure and structured environment. During this time of employment, I was part of designated special teams such as Crisis Intervention Team (CIT), Prison Rape Elimination Act Support Person (PREA), Vulnerability Assessment Team (VAT) and conducted new employee orientation.

Additionally, I have held positions in administrative support, customer service, and food service, refining my skills in communication, organizational management, and problem-solving. My role as an Administrative Assistant at Veteran’s Financial Group provided me with experience in document management, correspondence handling, and personnel coordination, which have contributed to my strong attention to detail and record-keeping abilities. My work in hospitality further developed my ability to provide excellent customer service while efficiently managing financial transactions and operations.

My academic coursework after recently completing a bachelor's degree in applied science - human resource management from Franklin University, has equipped me with knowledge in employee relations, policy development, training and compliance, and has prepared me to transition into HR-focused roles in the future. I also hold an associate degree in applied science – social work from Eastern Gateway Community College, which has strengthened my understanding of behavioral management, conflict resolution, and support strategies.

My diverse professional and educational background has provided me with a strong foundation in leadership, compliance management, team coordination, and workplace efficiency, making me well-prepared for dynamic roles that require adaptability, strategic oversight, and organizational development.

  • I previously worked for the State of Ohio as a correctional officer through ODRC- CCI from September 2018 until June 2024.
