Services offered
Since Summer 2019, I have served as the Communications Director of the Transportation Research Board at the National Academies of Sciences, Engineering, and Medicine. I am proud to have led the creation, adoption, and implementation of a documented Strategic Communications Plan for its prolific body of content and initiatives. This has led the way for a major redesign of our website and newsletters, the creation of new products and stronger messaging, and significant audience growth and engagement across many platforms.
For the seven years prior to my current work, in my role as Director of Communications and Research atMobility Lab, I helped lead its growth from a local research organization to an international influencer by convening fresh concepts like TransportationCamp and Transportation Techies and by translating research into popular products, such as videos that have been viewed in the millions.
Throughout the last two decades, I have successfully helped strengthen the way these and other organizations influence key audiences and the public. At The Nature Conservancy – the largest environmental non-profit in the U.S. – I cultivated climate spokespeople from all levelsof the organization. At World Resources Institute, I led the transformation of the organization’s media outreach from a sheet of paper of journalists’ names to a robust database, contributing to WRI’s standing as a powerhouse of mainstream media coverage.
My skills include writing and messaging, content marketing, crisis communications, public outreach, digital and social strategy, media relations, audience development, internal and external partnering, supervising and motivating staff, managing budgets, branding, and public speaking.
