About Paul Dang:
My name is Dr. Paul Dang. NOVA Southeastern University awarded me a Doctor of Nursing Practice in Psychiatry degree. My clinical experience has included working with adults, the geriatric population, and children. My experiences, I believe, will bring a unique combination of clinical expertise, evidence-based practice, and compassionate care to the forefront of psychiatric treatment. My extensive nursing background, which includes the intensive care unit, stem cell treatment, dialysis, radiation oncology, vascular access, and radiology, has enabled me to adapt to various environments and situations. However, what truly makes me proud is the care I provide to my patients. This is evidenced by more than 15 Daisy nominations and a Daisy Award nominated by patients and nursing staff. Practice Philosophy
My life and practice philosophy are based on the golden rule: treat people as you would like to be treated. As a PMHNP, I take a comprehensive approach to patient treatment and can work effectively with interdisciplinary teams. This will help handle the diverse requirements of people suffering from mental illnesses. My practice's premise is respect for each individual and the recognition that everyone has a unique narrative to share. Judgement must be reserved until one story has been heard. I believe that in mental health, one must first listen to people in order to help them comprehend their illness and, eventually, overcome it with medication and talk therapy.
Experience
Professional Development
Compared to all other programs I have participated in up to this time, the doctorate program in psychiatric mental health nurse practitioner (PMHNP) has provided me with unparalleled professional experiences. Clinical experiences include evaluating the patient's overall psychological and emotional health, prescribing medicine, providing patient counseling, and evaluating patients using a range of techniques, including family or significant other interviews. I was able to create treatment plans for clients in the PMHNP doctoral program that considered their requirements as well as the severity of their emotional, social, cognitive, developmental, or behavioral disorders in a variety of settings.
I had the opportunity to work in a range of clinical settings, including in-person, talk therapy, and telepsychiatry. I have the good fortune to work with a variety of electronic medical records (EMR) and health records (EHR) systems. I am familiar with working with Cerner, Epic, Beacon, ECW, and Athena systems. These EMRs and EHRs are all distinct yet share some common features. One benefit is that I am already familiar with them all, which will make it easier for me to use these tools to provide patients with coordinated, timely care.
As a DNP PHMNP, I am equipped to lead in advanced nursing practice and enhance the leadership role of nurses in both clinical and academic settings by bringing evidence-based knowledge into the clinical setting. The doctorate level broadens one's expertise to increase patient outcomes and nursing practice in a clinical setting that is becoming more complex. They use evidence-based clinical preventive care, applying and integrating broad, organizational, client-centered, and culturally relevant ideas.
