Nick Martin

My name is Nick Martin. Originally from Maryland, I am now an Electrical Engineering major at the University of Florida. I first grew interested in the STEM field there when my stepfather, a civil engineer, told me about his line of work. Now at UF and encouraged by my studies, I want to help create the future as a dedicated engineer and innovator in the field. Driven by a desire to leave a lasting impact in my life, I plan to continue my education into a master’s degree to obtain the skills necessary to be a successful engineer as well as a role model for those around me. To develop these technical and professional skills, I also participate in my school’s IEEE chapter in the OPS program and am a diligent worker in my community. When I am free outside of school, I tend to keep up with the NFL, NBA, and MLB as well as indulge in video games. I am a flexible thinker and a reliable set of hands. I don’t like to limit myself to one school of thought and am more than happy to help others achieve their goals. As a current undergraduate engaging in research, I am using these qualities to further our work in the ionospheric radio wave and lightning laboratory. I strive to become an engineer who propels my field forward with technological advancements and positively influence those around me with each project I complete. As such, I would love to work with a company who shares these ideals and a passion for creating a brighter future.
