I am an enthusiastic and motivated individual with a strong passion for healthcare and biotechnology. With a background in biological science, I have developed a diverse skill set that allows me to excel in various areas.

I have a deep interest in the field of healthcare, my main area of interest and specialization lies in immunology and microbiology. I am fascinated by the intricate workings of the immune system and its role in combating diseases and infections. Although I may not have direct experience in this field yet, my knowledge in biology has provided me with a solid foundation in understanding cellular and molecular processes.

I am particularly drawn to the study of immunology, which involves investigating the immune response, immunological disorders, and the development of immunotherapies. I am also interested in studying infectious diseases and the interactions between microorganisms and the human immune system.

I currently work as a phlebotomist at CSL plasma. As a phlebotomist I possess a specific skill set that allows me to excel in my role. My proficiency in phlebotomy techniques enables me to confidently locate veins, prepare puncture sites, and safely collect blood samples from donors. With a solid foundation in medical knowledge, including terminology, anatomy, and physiology, I can accurately identify and label blood collection tubes, understand potential complications, and ensure proper handling of samples.

Attention to detail is a crucial aspect of my work. I meticulously follow protocols, verify patient information, label specimens correctly, and maintain thorough documentation. I understand the importance of strict adherence to infection control protocols, such as using personal protective equipment, maintaining proper hand hygiene, and disposing of biohazardous materials appropriately to prevent the spread of infections.

Effective communication skills are vital in my interactions with donors. I provide clear instructions, address any concerns or questions, and prioritize the comfort and well-being of donors throughout the blood collection process. Organizational skills play a significant role in my day-to-day activities as I efficiently manage my workload, prioritize tasks, and ensure a clean and well-organized work area.

Accurate data entry and documentation are crucial for maintaining proper records and traceability of samples. 

I am studying at Indiana University - Purdue University Indianapolis (IUPUI), expecting to finish the fall of 2023.
