Laura Alfonso

I am an individual passionate about the well being of my patients. During the time I've worked as a practical nurse, I have found self growth while helping others during the most difficult times of their lives. Taking care of patients has also given me the opportunity to master my bilingual skills. During the pandemic, our clinic would only conduct video visits. Even though the company had online interpreter services, sometimes the connection wasn't the best and we would often lose our interpreters. Since the doctors where running on a tight schedule I would often be requested to interpret during the video visit. Later on, patients where allowwd to go back for in person visits. Due to our patient population being mostly hispanic, I was again requested to interpret during live visits so that doctors wouldn't lose time connecting an interpreter. In addition to helping my patients and doctors with my Spanish skills, I constantly help interpret calls for family members who don't speak English. Moreover, while studying to become an LPN I tutored children and helped translate their homework.
