About Imani Floyd:
Highly motivated, travel-loving hospitality professional. Having recently completed my Masters degree in December 2024, I have returned to my hometown of Charlotte where I am eager to leverage my skills in the thriving hospitality landscape. My comprehensive training in food and beverage management, sustainable practices, and event planning, along with my dedication to excellence, positions me as a valuable asset to any team seeking a driven and results-oriented hospitality professional. I am enthusiastic about making a positive impact in my local community, while also being exploring vibrant opportunities in the global hospitality sector. With a range of international experiences under my belt, I am open to the possibility of relocating in the near future.
Experience
I have been actively engaged in the vibrant world of Miami's hospitality industry, contributing to the success of prestigious events such as Ultra Music Festival, the Food Network South Beach Wine & Food Festival, The Phocuswright Conference, and the American Fine Wine Competition. These experiences have not only fueled my passion for the events and spirits industry but also honed my ability to effectively plan and execute large-scale events. I excel at ensuring seamless logistics, managing budgets, and creating memorable experiences for diverse audiences. Furthermore, I have developed strong guest service skills, consistently exceeding expectations and fostering positive relationships with attendees. I have also gained valuable experience in streamlining operational processes, maximizing productivity, and ensuring efficient resource allocation in fast-paced environments.
Education
I have a Master's degree from the esteemed Chaplin School of Hospitality and Tourism Management at Florida International University. As a graduate assistant under Dr. John Buschman, I focused on Sustainability, earning a full scholarship for my academic excellence. My studies were complemented by participation in the Pronghorn Spirits Prep & Mentorship programs and active involvement in student organizations, including serving as Treasurer for both the FIU Wine and Bartenders Guild. A selective apprenticeship at the award-winning craft cocktail bar, Bar Kaiju, further enriched my experience, instilling in me a meticulous attention to detail, a deep passion for mixology, and an unwavering commitment to delivering exceptional guest experiences.
