About Elena Powell:
As the HR Manager at RL Controls, LLC, I am responsible for overseeing the function of Human Recourses, training and support of the strategic plan at RLC. I am an HR professional with 15+ years of progressive experience augmented by SHRM-CP certification. I have created structure for onboarding new employees, created teamwork and collaboration proving my ability to be the ideal person for this growth position within RLC. My passion, patience and experience has brought additional leadership, integrity with improved employee communications to help organize and align employee/management relations to meet business objectives. Under my leadership RLC has doubled in size with our experienced and dedicated employees, has improved employee systems and created a competitive benefits package. I engage the community by organizing food and clothing drives for local organizations in need and continually make myself available to the needs of the employees.
Experience
- Responsible for aligning business objectives with employees and management in their designated business units.
- The position serves as a consultant to management and employees on human resource-related issues. This role is also responsible for out of state HR operations.
- Consult with line management, providing HR guidance when appropriate. Provide day-to-day performance management guidance to line management (e.g., coaching, counseling, career development, disciplinary actions).
- Act as a business partner to management and employees to improve work relationships, build morale, and increase productivity and retention.
- Handle employee off-boarding for assigned groups, including exit interview, paperwork, system deactivation, final paycheck, equipment collection, etc.
- Identify training needs for business units and individual coaching needs.
- Partner with Finance to manage out of state payroll in compliance with local regulations.
- Maintain compliance with federal, state and local employment laws, including completion of mandatory reporting.
- Manage the annual employee review period, including budget approval, project timeline and overall execution.
- Participate in other team projects and company initiatives as need be. Process Bi- Weekly Payroll (Insperity PEO).
- Coordinate employee recruitment activities, compensation programs, new hire orientations, benefit administration, policies and procedures.
