Dennis Helmer

I am a nutrition professional seeking entry-level experience as a Registered Dietitian. I am currently completing a MS in Nutrition and Dietetics at Rowan University and will be considered eligible to sit for the Registered Dietitian exam as of September 2025. I have a plethora of experience in food service, research, and community endeavors that are all powered by my desire to help others. 

I have over 5 years of supervising experience from my first job. At this establishment I worked up from a dish washer to a full-time General Manager. Due to a conflict my academic schedule, I was forced to leave this position and I ended up at Inspira Medical Center in Mullica Hill, NJ. In this position I have worked in various areas that involved preparing trays to patients, delivering trays, taking orders in a call center setting, and serving customers in the retail bistro. This job has allowed me to strengthen my knowledge with Electronic Medical Record systems as well as diet orders and restrictions. I have also worked as a research assistant to develop and deliver nutrition and e-health literacy related lessons to older adults. This experience has allowed me to supervise other students and educate older adults in both group and one-on-one settings. 

I have been a participant in a Coordinated Program in Dietetics at Rowan University since 2022. This is an accelerated Masters Program that has provided me with the hours and experience to satisfy the requirements to become a Registered Dietitian. This program included coursework, research, internships, and supervised practice in clinical and community settings.
