Experience

With over 28 years of professional experience in the construction and flooring industries, I have served as a Controller, business owner, project manager, and commercial estimator. As sole owner and Controller of Arizona Concrete-treatment, Stone & Tile, LLC, and previously at Conway Tile Co., I managed full-cycle accounting—including general ledger, AP/AR, journal entries, reconciliations, payroll, budgeting, financial reporting, and GAAP compliance—while significantly improving cash flow through enhanced AR processes (achieving 99.9% collections). A certified Intuit/Sage 200 Contractor Administrator, I implemented and customized accounting systems, built custom databases, trained staff, and oversaw operations supporting revenues from $700K to over $5M annually. My expertise also extends to accurate commercial and residential estimating, digital takeoffs, project scheduling, workforce management, and IT support (Office 365 administration, workstation setup). I am a graduate of Sabino High School in Tucson, Arizona, where I served as a student aide for two years in the Metal & Machine Shop program, gaining foundational hands-on experience in fabrication and machining.

My most relevant professional education has been intensive, practical, and directly tied to real-world accounting and business operations. Through Conway Tile Co.'s continued education overhead account, I received extensive one-on-one training from a licensed CPA in a live office environment. This hands-on mentorship covered all aspects of controllership, including building and maintaining the general ledger, accounts payable/receivable setup, payroll implementation and quarterly reporting, job costing, work-in-progress processing, cost of goods sold, AIA billing, project auditing, and reading/analyzing financial reports.
