Christopher Spiewak

Focused R&D Systems Engineer versed in prototype development, feasibility analysis, and design modification. Solves technical, and mechanical design challenges and collaborates with teams to implement efficient processes.

As a R&D Systems Engineer II at Beckman Coulter Life Sciences, I applied my mechanical engineering skills and knowledge to design and test innovative solutions for life science research and clinical diagnostics. I was involved in the development and validation of acoustic droplet ejection technology, a key feature for the company's products. 

I used Python scripts to analyze and visualize data, and developed assays to examine the functionality of new products. I also collaborated with other engineers and scientists to execute experiments, report results, and optimize processes. I was passionate about improving the quality and efficiency of the products, and contributing to the advancement of the field.

My interest in electromechanical systems and fluid dynamics started from my bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering at the University of Wisconsin-Milwaukee. I was part of the Ronald E. McNair Postbaccalaureate Achievement Program, where I designed a robotic assistive device for hand rehabilitation and published some of the results in journals. I also completed two online courses on robot motion and kinematics from Coursera, to enhance my knowledge and skills in robotics.
