Brandon Jones

I am currently a junior manufacturing engineering and technology major at Tarleton State University looking for an internship for the summer of 2025. Engineering has fascinated me from a very young age. I grew up obsessively watching How It’s Made Marathons and take every opportunity to learn more about how machines work. In fact, this May I will travel to Australia with the Tarleton Engineering College and spend two weeks touring local manufacturing companies and visiting technical universities in Sydney and Melbourne. My favorite part of engineering is having the ability to be creative while designing new things, and then using innovative machines to turn these ideas into reality! My hobbies include serving as the current president of Tarleton Wesley Foundation (Methodist student organization), skiing, county and western dancing, and karate.

My current job is to provide academic support to students needing assistance in Physics, Pre-Calculus, Computer Programming, and Chemistry, on a one-on-one or small group basis at the Tarleton Tutoring and Learning Center (August 2024 to present).  In this position I explain and demonstrate relevant material, supply practice problems, and provide study strategies to help students develop effective ways to learn material. Through this position I have become proficient navigating through problems as a group and applying these skills to accomplish a central task. Other jobs I have held include being the Audio Visual Technician at First Methodist Church in Stephenville (August 2023-May 2024), and serving as a customer service representative for Orange Leaf Yogurt and Mr. W Fireworks in Amarillo (2020-2023). 

I am currently a junior manufacturing engineering and technology major at Tarleton State University with a GPA of 3.53. I will graduate with Honors in May of 2026. My engineering and technology classes include programmable logic controllers, materials and their properties, project management, drafting, 3D modeling, metal work, continuous improvement, and quality management. I also have experience with Microsoft 365, AutoCAD, Do-more Designer, and Inventor. I own a 3D printer and frequently use Inventor to design and print 3D models both for class projects and personal use.
