Graduate Engineering Trainee              Aug 2022 - May 2023 

During my tenure as a Graduate Engineering Trainee at Carborundum Universal Limited, I played a pivotal role in advancing the company's manufacturing processes through the application of data-driven strategies. One of my key contributions involved designing and implementing regression models to meticulously analyze the correlations between machine parameters and material properties. This initiative resulted in a remarkable 25% reduction in product cracks, thereby significantly enhancing overall manufacturing quality.

 

Furthermore, I spearheaded efforts to address and eliminate ceramic bend issues, a critical aspect of the production process. Through the implementation of targeted process improvements, I achieved an impressive 75% reduction in overall grinding costs. This accomplishment not only demonstrated my ability to identify and rectify operational challenges but also showcased a commitment to optimizing resource utilization and cost-effectiveness within the manufacturing workflow.

 

In addition to these achievements, I leveraged my technical skills to develop an interactive Tableau dashboard. In my role as a Data Analyst at Axion Ray, an AI-powered proactive engineering management startup,    I played a pivotal role in guiding a transformative project within the realm of aircraft engine manufacturing. From conceptualization to execution, I led the comprehensive project lifecycle, showcasing my commitment to innovation and operational excellence. The successful transition from a Proof of Concept (PoC) to a fully launched initiative underscored my ability to navigate complex projects and deliver tangible results.

 

A key focus of my work involved the implementation of data analysis and decision-making processes. Specifically, I spearheaded the automation of data mining procedures, employing prompt iterations in Large Language Models (LLM) models. This approach not only streamlined our data analysis capabilities but also ensured adaptability to evolving project requirements, showcasing a commitment to agile and efficient workflows.

 

Furthermore, my hands-on involvement in building Artificial Intelligence (AI) models significantly contributed to the technological advancement of the project. By harnessing AI capabilities, we not only derived data-driven insights but also optimized various facets of the aircraft engine manufacturing process. This integration of advanced technologies positioned our project at the forefront of innovation in the industry.

Education

My academic journey reflects a deep-seated passion for mathematics and science. In 10th grade, I achieved a perfect score of 100% in both Math and Science at Leo Matriculation Higher Secondary School, accompanied by a proactive C and C++ programming course, refining my problem-solving and coding skills. This strong foundation drove me to opt for the computer science stream at SBOA Matriculation Higher Secondary School during higher secondary education. I excelled across subjects, especially Mathematics and Computer Science. I then pursued Production Engineering at PSG College of Technology. In this prestigious institution, I continued to excel, specifically in Manufacturing Systems, Automation, and Robotics, alongside advanced problem-solving using C & C++ programming. Mathematics and industrial subjects like Operation Research, Probability and Statistics, and Six Sigma further enriched my academic journey.

Throughout my academic journey, I discovered the compelling concepts of Industry 4.0 and the Internet of Things (IoT). This exploration led to my 'Medication Reminder Box' project, aiding those with conditions like Alzheimer’s. This device utilizes Arduino Uno and an RTC module to deliver timely medication alerts, fostering better health management. Further, a laboratory course in electrical and electronic engineering fueled the creation of a ‘IoT Based Gas Leakage Detector’, employing cost- effective components such as a chemiresistor and NodeMCU. We complemented this with a user- friendly mobile app prototype developed using Thunkable platform and a research paper was presented, highlighting the practical applications of IoT in safety and convenience. During my final year, I was involved in the India Automobile Hackathon by NEC and Mitsubishi Corporation India. I proposed a courier service concept via an interactive mobile application, embracing the ideas of package sharing and hailing. Leveraging my app development expertise, I secured a top-20 position among thousands of participants, showcasing my proficiency in IoT and innovative thinking in the automotive sector. As my final year project, I sought to enhance the mechanical and tribological properties of pneumatics. During my literature review, I encountered research on regression models for predicting material properties and performance relationships, revealing the profound impact of AI in the manufacturing sector. This early experience significantly shaped my subsequent professional career.
