AMANDA FERRIS

I am a second-semester sophomore student at Paul Smith's College. I am studying Natural Resource conservation management. I am on Paul Smith's woodsmen's team.  I achieved Academic - All American Athlete in the 2022 fall semester. I grew up working on my family's dairy farm and was a 4-H member for many years. I have much experience working with animals as I have shown cows and oxen for numerous years. I have a passion for agriculture and the environment as they are directly connected to each other.   

I worked on my family's dairy farm for as long as I can remember and at the Wood's sugar house from July 2020 until August 2021. At the Sugar house, I ran the Ice Cream shop and worked in shipping and handling. I have worked as a Substitute teacher from 2021 until now when I am home for school breaks. Last summer, I interned at New England Forestry Consultants, applying herbicides to the invasive species of Vermont's forests. Over winter break this year, I worked at Motio Recreation as a camp counselor, certified belayer, and front desk operator.  

I am a sophomore at Paul Smith's College studying Natural Resource Conservation Management. I am learning about how our actions impact the environment and how we can sustain the environment and help improve the outdoors.
