Merchants in wholesale and foreign trade work in all industries of the economy, at trade or industrial companies. They procure goods of all kinds from domestic and foreign sources and distribute them to trade, crafts and industry. They also advise customers by phone, in sales or directly on site. This may also include product-related services. They also ensure cost-effective storage and smooth flow of goods. This means that merchants in wholesale and foreign trade also monitor the logistics chain, check goods receipts and inventory levels, and order goods.
