- Lead and drive Continuous Improvement projects and activities to meet operational objectives, including cost improvement projects and value stream improvements.
- Execute CI by defining improvement goals; establish accountability through metrics; use Lean/Six Sigma tools/techniques to improve processes/business results.
- Promote use of Lean Six Sigma methodology and tools (DMAIC, Lean, Kaizen, Supplier, and Design for Six Sigma).
- Analyze, map, improve and monitor priority processes.
- Spearhead and/or lead improvement projects.
- Plan, oversee and lead both CI and non- CI projects from ideation through to completion. This requires interaction with a range of stakeholders and managing several projects simultaneously.
- Facilitate and document process mapping of critical processes.
- Provide leadership with a Lean/Six Sigma focus to drive Continuous Improvement (CI) methods/tools for improvement within the value streams.
- Provide direct and/or indirect leadership by leading, managing and coaching team members to drive CI.
- Lead / develop a vision and strategy for process improvement, via Lean and Six Sigma initiatives.
- Solve complex problems where analysis of situations or data requires an in-depth evaluation of various factors.
- Perform capability and other statistical assessments with appropriate follow-up work to reduce variability and/or achieve targets.
- Facilitate the definition of project charter including scope, objectives, resources and timeline, involving all relevant stakeholders and ensuring feasibility.
- Ensure resource availability and allocation.
- Develop detailed project plans to monitor and track progress of priority and cross-functional projects.
- Work with project teams to manage changes to project scope, project schedule and project costs using appropriate verification techniques.
- Measure, track and report project performance using appropriate tools and techniques.
- Manage the relationship with the client and all stakeholders.
- Perform risk management to minimize project risks.
- Coordinate internal resources and third parties/vendors for the flawless execution of projects.
- Ensure appropriate change management approach is built into all projects.
- This position has no direct supervisory responsibilities but is required to influence and lead cross functional CI and Project teams.
- A Bachelor's Degree from an accredited four-year college or University in Engineering or related scientific field, Master's Degree preferred.
- PMP certification preferred.
- 8 - 10 years' experiencefacilitating, coaching and implementing CI, Lean/Six Sigma events and driving major lean transformations with proven results in a manufacturing or industrial engineering setting.
- Demonstrated experience of identifying and implementing process improvements that resulted in significant gains in operational efficiencies.
- Demonstrated success in implementing Lean/Six Sigma principles.
- Strong understanding of statistical concepts/methods, as well as LEAN Manufacturing techniques (i.e. waste elimination, parts flow, pull, etc.) as well as Six Sigma methodologies.
- Strong professional acumen, and effective written and verbal communication skills.
- Proven project management skills and expertise.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
- Strong oral and written communication skills.
- Demonstrated ability to influence and lead without direct authority.
- Solid organizational skills including attention to detail and multitasking skills.
- Experience with cGMP and FDA manufacturing is a plus.
- Ability to read, analyze, and interpret general business documents, technical drawings, technical journals and procedures, and governmental regulations. Must be able to effectively present technical information and respond to questions from various department managers.
- The ability to analyze data with strong technical mathematical skills.
- The ability to solve technical mathematical and scientific problems that deal with a variety of variables in situations where only limited information may exist.
- The ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form is also required. Must have the ability to handle multiple priority tasks in a manner that meets business requirements.
